Bento digitalizes the operations of Grup Feroviar Român

Bento, Intellectually Curious (BVB: BENTO), a Romanian entrepreneurial company specialized in the development and implementation of software solutions and the provision of IT and Cloud infrastructure services, has implemented its software product, Bento Mobile Device Management (Bento MDM), for Grup Feroviar Român (GFR). The solution provided by Bento will digitalize the company’s operations for the centralized management of mobile devices assigned to locomotive staff and the documents specific to their activity.

Bento MDM is one of the fundamental proprietary software products in the company’s evolution in the coming years. This product can suit any organization that uses a large fleet of mobile devices and wants to control them centrally. It also reduces companies’ operational costs by automating installation, administration, and maintenance processes and provides advanced data security. To date, Bento MDM has been implemented predominantly within utility companies. Our goal is to reach as many industries as possible with this product in the medium and long term. We are glad we had the opportunity to expand into another area, thus confirming the product’s versatility. Also, this is not the first collaboration we have had with GFR because, in parallel, we are working on a project targeting a clocking solution we implemented a few years ago. Thus, we thank them for the solid partnership we have built over the years at the team level, and we are confident that we will have the opportunity to realize other successful projects together,” stated Vlad Bodea, co-founder of Bento.

Bento’s involvement in the project was achieved after winning a tender, together with Orange Business Services, the company responsible for providing mobile equipment, private APN (access point network name), and SIM cards. At the execution level, in the first step, Bento analyzed GFR and the workflows within the company to identify its needs. In the next step, Bento configured the necessary IT infrastructure according to the analysis results and installed the Bento MDM platform, adapted to the identified needs. Subsequently, the Bento team held a series of training sessions for GFR staff focused on the proper use of the app.

Grup Feroviar Român has as its objective the digitalization of operations in the Railway sector, thus aligning itself with the strategy of the European Union regarding the digital transformation in the transport field. Maintaining its position as an innovator, GFR is launching a new project involving the digitalization, automation, and optimization of the most important locomotive staff operations. They will have digital tablets managed remotely through an MDM solution, providing innovative technological solutions for specific activities. The first stage of the project, which has passed the testing phase, will ensure the direct connection of more than 1,000 employees in the field of railway transport and will allow access to a suite of applications for the management of technical and administrative documents, the organization of current activities, training programs, and continuous professional development, as well as real-time access to essential information to maximize the efficiency of their activity,” stated Leonard Bulgaru, IT Director of the GRAMPET group.

Bento’s MDM implementation process within GFR took three weeks, and the project will run for three years. Bento will provide technical support and maintenance services through a dedicated client team during that time.

As market leaders, we are responsible for bringing innovation to this industry and raising the quality of rail transport services, complementary to all the other logistics and commercial efforts we are engaged in through all our projects. By launching this digital transformation project of current operations, we want to streamline activities, optimize processes and bring them to a level of technology reflected in more efficient use of our resources. This major investment, which we have chosen to make alongside one of the leading Romanian companies in technology, also supports our strategic objective of attracting from the labor market the most talented young people who want a career in the railway transport industry cargo,” stated Gruia Stoica, President, and Founder of GRAMPET Group – Grup Feroviar Român.

Bento MDM is a system dedicated to companies that manage a substantial fleet of mobile devices, such as tablets, smartphones, POS, etc. The solution allows for centralized management of these devices, enforcement of security policies, tracking devices via GPS, remote management of each user’s rights, applications, and settings, and locking devices to be used only for their intended purpose.

Bento is listed on the AeRO market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange as of March 16, 2022, being one of the few technology companies in Romania that develop its software products. The products and solutions provided by Bento are used by local and international companies operating in diverse fields such as energy, FMCG, utilities, telecommunications, healthcare, agriculture, IT, media, the food industry, distribution, transport, and services.
